Re: Watch Recordings Page, background changing

Just be careful when doing all this that you don't disable the processing of metadata lookup jobs, but not disable metadata lookup job creation (in the rules, as stated) or your machine will not shut off automatically. It will put jobs in the queue that won't be processed and then always say there a...

Re: sql query for userjobs status

SELECT title, status FROM `recorded`,`jobqueue` WHERE recorded.chanid = jobqueue.chanid and recorded.starttime = jobqueue.starttime and recorded.basename = '10401_20200305220000.ts' I'm not home so don't remember the exact column name, and am not sure if this is relevant to jobs, but... mythwelcome vs new idle mode/screen

First let me say why I don't like the "new" way of not using mythwelcome but instead using only the idle mode/screen in mythfrontend. If I'm misunderstanding the idle mode/screen, and it can do what I want, please let me know. I have a shorter timeout for mythwelcome and a much longer timeout for my...

Re: Mythwelcome hanging (?) on Linux Mint

Don't know if it's related, but check if any jobs are hanging. (commercial flagging, metadata lookup.)

Re: "No Recordings available, or screen loading..."

I am getting a blank screen when I try to watch a video with the notice "No Recordings available, or screen loading..." You mean "Watch Recordings?" Did you see my solution here? https://forum.mythtv.org/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=3558&p=17089#p17089 Just change group filter to any other group, then back...

Re: Invoke tmdb3 via a script and pass tmdb id

Interesting. Before I started using the services, I had only been running mythutil --scanvideos. I found that for isos with a filename such as "Disc 1.iso" that they were being looked up and found a title of "Disco" with description, actors, etc. in French. I found that's actually a French movie. So...

Re: Invoke tmdb3 via a script and pass tmdb id

Hello, I have an existing movie library, and for each movie i have the TMDB id. Is it possible to invoke tmdb3 script directly for each folder and pass TMDB ID for metadata lookup? At the moment I have to goto 'Media Library' invoke a scan and feed TMDB id manually for each file. Unfortunately, my ...

Re: Service to get SHUTDOWN_COUNTDOWN?

You can easily check if the frontend is idle by using the network control port. Thanks! I'll check that out. However, I'm also going to check if the Frontend service call GetStatus will tell when frontend is in standby mode. However I would recommend rather handle this by adding some checks to the ...

Re: Service to get SHUTDOWN_COUNTDOWN?

I just did some testing and noted that mythfrontend logs a message when it enters standby mode, and another when it leaves. So if nothing else, I can monitor the log.

Re: Service to get SHUTDOWN_COUNTDOWN?

Use case: I want to run a background queue processor (not mythtv jobs, completely external) that will process jobs whenever the system is on, and either the backend is busy or the frontend is being actively used. If backend is not busy, mythshutdown -c still returns "OK to shutdown" even if the fron...

Standalone EIT grabber?

Is there a standalone EIT grabber for linux? One that can output listings data to a file/database? I configured my system to use SchedulesDirect very early on, but would like to get familiar with what data is available over EIT without reconfiguring MythTV and corrupting my existing listings data. J...

Service to get SHUTDOWN_COUNTDOWN?

Is there a programatic way for a script to get myth's shutdown countdown? (The value you see at the top of mythwelcome when the system is idle and it's going to shut down when the countdown reaches zero.)

Re: 100% Signal, No Lock

I would test running the antenna straight to only your MythTV box, eliminating all splitters. If possible with a single unbroken run of coax.

If that works, the problem may be reflections within the "maze" of splitters/coax. Especially if the layout changed when you moved the machine.

Re: 100% Signal, No Lock

So you ran the antenna direct to the tuner, no amplification at all? None integrated into the antenna either? Antenna still in the same location? So you're getting 100% signal, I assume just on some channels? Are they close/strong? Are other weaker/farther channels that work showing less than 100% (...
