Re: Pluto TV on Myth

If I had to choose, I'd stick with mythtv simply because I get 115 free channels ota here, and I can record them, play them when I want , FF, skip commercials, etc., etc., etc. Can't even pause plutotv afaik, can't get captions to work, or record it, or any of the things you can do with mythtv. But...

Re: How do I set up systemctl to launch Mythbackend at start up

From what I can tell, it isn't a problem with MythBackend, but rather the systemctl process. Myth works fine when I start it manually. (using `sudo mythbackend --user mythtv --daemon`) In fact, I'm watching TV right now. I just can't get the automatic start to work. It fails with error 127. Looking ...

How do I set up systemctl to launch Mythbackend at start up

I have Myth-Backend (v. 30) installed on Debian 10.3 and it has been running fine for months now. Earlier today, I had a problem with the system and had to reboot. Ran into a glitch where had to run fdsk, etc. and cleared out some orphaned files, screwed up inodes, etc, etc. Everything came out OK.....

MythWeb Recording Filter "!!NoTrans: No episodes!!"

I recently upgraded to .28 and am now seeing a recording filter in MythWeb labeled "!!NoTrans: No episodes!!" at the bottom of the list. I've Googled around and can't find a good answer as to what this is.... Anyone know?

Re: Mythbackend with Libreelec

You have to set up Kodi to use a MySQL database. Kodi keeps track of meta data like that distinctly from MythTV.
Similar to something like this: https://www.htpcbeginner.com/kodi-mysql ... e-library/

Re: Metadata Lookup errored with exit status 128

Ran in to about the same issue with Debian 8. After a software version upgrade, metadata lookup was failing with exit code 128. It seems that, the python bindings were not part of the mythtv upgrade (or the upgraded python was part of a later batch of upgrades that didn't come along with the mythtv ...

Looking for an alternative to MythicalLibrarian

I like MythicalLibrarian and have been using it for years, but I'm getting kind of sick of having shows that I already have meta data for, being renamed with less accurate information. I can see the data exactly right in my EPG, but MythicalLibrarian "insists" on looking up the data for a handful of...

Re: Upgrade from 0.25 to 0.27

The Ubuntu and MythTV installation programs and procedures are almost "bullet-proof" but you have to "meet them half way" and do it right to begin with. Even Windows requires that. I think your mistake is "upgrading" with a DVD. If you can get back to a "good" installation of 10.04, do the upgrade f...

Re: All tuners are currently busy

I experienced a similar problem over last weekend. I did nothing to my system overnight, no upgrades, no updates, etc. Not really sure what happened as everything was working perfectly on Saturday night, but by Sunday morning, my tuners were all showing errors/unavailable. To offer a little context,...
