Re: Building v.26
0.26? That was the version with the short-lived mythlogserver as a standalone app. Personally, I got a lot of mileage out of 0.25.

Re: Looking for OSX MythTV 31 frontend pre-built binary
Another random thought. I believe MariaDB and MySQL API's have now diverged somewhat. Using bindings built for one flavour when the other is the actual database _could_ be contributing to this issue? What bindings is the frontend being built with? What database are affected users running?

Re: Looking for OSX MythTV 31 frontend pre-built binary
Just a guess, but if you run the frontend with debug level verbosity of the database messages, maybe that might help narrow down the issue?

John deserves much credit too for his extensive testing of the various patches that Mark developed. Without his sizeable time commitment, this problem would not have been resolved.
Well done John!

Re: MythWeb Troubles with 0.28.1
Despite trying the various recommendations here, I have been unable to get MythWeb running under 0.28.1. I installed it using the self installer and, since it's not doing anything for me, I would like to reverse any changes it made to the OS. Any help would be much appreciated. As the wiki page say...

Re: Recordings have a hi failure rate
In my little corner of the world, recordings from OTA broadcast are noticeably weaker in August than the rest of the year due to atmospheric conditions. They tend to clear up as soon as the air is a little cooler and less humid.
YMMV,

Re: Interest in mythweb cleanup?
It is your 'itch to scratch' but have you considered investing your time in adding missing features to WebFrontend, instead?

Re: Building Mythtv 31 with Ansible
Do MythGame, MythBrowser and MythNews actually work? AFAICT none of the games work on the Mac. Pretty sure MythBrowser was badly broken in previous versions. And MythNews depended on MythBrowser. Even MythWeather has been broken for long stretches before anybody reported it. With so many weather app...

Re: Building Mythtv 31 with Ansible
I'd forgotten about WarpMe's version of the packaging script. That's probably a better reference: https://github.com/warpme/mythv-osx-build-script The official packaging script served a couple of purposes but a prime one was to let a Mac-based MythTV developer do incremental builds and test on OS X....

Re: Building Mythtv 31 with Ansible
Yes, the one here: https://github.com/MythTV/packaging/tree/master/OSX/build Note that a key difference is that it assumes the user will download a Mac installer from the Qt project to obtain their copy of all the required Qt stuff. The script also downloads and installs all the necessary dependenci...

Re: Looking for OSX MythTV 31 frontend pre-built binary
BTW, the regular cp command (is that what you tried?) won't work. A macOS application is a special kind of folder (directory) containing numerous files that make up the application.

Re: Looking for OSX MythTV 31 frontend pre-built binary
You have to open a Finder window showing the contents of the dmg. If you right-click on the MythFrontend application, you should be able to choose Get Info and it will tell you that the Kind is Application, etc. This will confirm you've got the right thing. Dismiss that window and then drag and drop...
