Re: Hauppauge HVR-2255 and Ubuntu 16.04

I don't own the card myself but have found instructions to use a recent kernel and add the line "options saa7164 card=8" to a file and put it in the /etc/modprobe.d/ directory, and to copy the firmware to /lib/firmware. I got this from the below thread. https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2400...

Mythgame not working on recent builds

I haven't been able to get mythgame to work in recent versions of MythTV (30 and 29) on Ubuntu 19.04, and libmythgame isn't included in the mythgame deb file. Does anyone know if there is a reason for this I.e mythgame not working in recent versions, or will building my own versions of MythTV be the...

Mythbuntu 16.04 - backend starts before cards are ready

I've been having trouble with my Mythbuntu setup for a while. The Mythtv backend is starting before any of my tv cards are ready so none of the scheduled recordings record. In the past I have dealt with this by putting a delay in the upstart or the newer systemd script. However as Mythtbuntu is over...

Re: Mixed freeview/freesat won't schedule any recordings

The backend gets it's listings from EIT. Terrestrial gets a nice 8 day guide. Satellite mostly does too except for some that only have now/next.

Re: Mixed freeview/freesat won't schedule any recordings

My mythtv box rarely has an internet connection so that shouldn't be the problem. I'll might check in the channel editor on the off chance that some odd channel with xmltv is making trouble. I'm wondering if it's more likely to be a corrupt recording rule or template as I've somehow ended up with tw...

Mixed freeview/freesat won't schedule any recordings

Hello I've got this problem with a mixed Freeview/Freesat I'm trying to set up. When I have the input connections set up for both freeview And freesat then within an hour every the gets removed from the scheduler and "Upcoming Recordings" is blank. If I disconnect either freeview or freesat in mytht...

optional increased priority for overlapping recording

As someone who used the acpi wake set up from http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/ACPI_Wakeup I am a lot happier now that my mythtv box automatically turns of and in for recording. It reduces my electric bill and saves the fossil fuels/gas/uranium/planet etc as well. However the first come first recorded nat...

Scheduling not working on dvbt/dvbs combo box

I've been having some troubles since I rescanned my satellite channels a couple of months ago. MythTV then quickly stopped recording anything. Im in the uk with a Freeview (terrestrial)/Freesat(satellite) setup. The upcoming recordings page says there is nothing scheduled to record even though there...

Proper Freesat channel numbering in the uk

Mythtv has never supported the Freesat channel table and as a result the channel numbering for any satellite channel in the UK can charitably be called messy. The data has been reverse engineered by Steve Hill (http://blog.nexusuk.org/2014/07/decoding-freesat-part-2.html) and his implementation avai...
