Re: [workaround] OTA TV changed freqency, rescanned, now mythfill.. fails

Check out the lines containing:

Code: Select all

  ... Updating source #1 (SD.xmltv) with grabber tv_grab_zz_sdjson_sqlite
The source name has .xmltv appended. That's OK, but the logic appends
that automatically when developing the name of the file. That's why the
name change above works.

Re: Mythfrontend database schema upgrade lock

The test to lock is just: SELECT GET_LOCK('schemaLock', 1); To release it; SELECT RELEASE_LOCK('schemaLock'); Both return: 1 on success. the release returns NULL when there are no locks locks left. I'd stop the backend, restart SQL and start the backend. Then see if the frontend is happy. I'm guessi...

Re: Terminate long-paused clients?

I tested this (exactly once) with a paused frontend LiveTV program. Not
Kodi and it works:

Re: [Solved] Scheduled recordings completely disappearing

Unfortunately, I don't speak gentoo. I was guessing that it has the MythTV source
and you just need to do a git pull. Maybe the attached will help.

@raydude: [e55471f07] and [eafe170b2] in that order.

You can verify that this is what's affecting you with the instructions here:
posting.php?mode=reply&f=36&t=4453#pr22006
The new log message should appear if this is it.

Re: 0.27 -> 31 upgrade. Frontend can't login to database

Checkout Master Backend Name in mythtv-setup. I don't see it set in the settings dump above. Note: nmap -p6543 --reason yourBackendHostnameOrIP is a better choice to see if the backend is accepting connections. telnet sends too much data as you saw. Please use the code icon rather than the quote ico...

Re: Myth v31.0 fails to restore database - unable to connect to database.

FYI, in /etc/mythtv/config.xml, on a master backend that also has the database server,
<Host>192.168.1.140</Host> should be set to <Host>localhost</Host>. That way, a
socket is used rather than TCP.

Re: Myth 0.31 fails to restore database - unable to connect to database.

The frontend is testing the connection to the backend at 192.168.1.140, usually on the default port 6543.
It's failing. Verify that the backend is running.

In: mythtv-setup->General->Host Address Backend Setup->Port = 6543

Re: Scheduled recordings completely disappearing

Thanks John. The v31.0 fix was pushed about 5 hours ago, after your report. The wait_timeout workaround should be removed, the backend stopped, MySQL/MariaDB restarted and the backend started. [After the update hits your distribution, of course.] @thezencowsaysmu your update may not be the same issu...

Re: Myth 0.31 fails to restore database - unable to connect to database.

Hi Peter, in the packaging repo, the SQL version is detected and then proper commands are used to create the user. But that's for a new install . I'm guessing that the user was recreated here and, as you know, the default changed. https://github.com/MythTV/packaging/blob/master/deb/debian/mythtv-dat...

@briggella did you manually create the mythtv user in MySQL after upgrading

Re: Scheduled recordings completely disappearing

Commit e55471f was just pushed. It's for master only . Anyone playing along that has used the wait_timeout workaround should remove it after they receive the update. It usually takes a day to get into the *buntu PPA. Since this is common DB code, I'll let it soak for some time before backporting to ...
