Re: Steps to upgrade to Unbuntu 20.04 and Mythtv 31

If you choose to go the upgrade route, then convert your existing system
to XMLTV 1st. Test it of course. That way you'll know your listings will be
working on v31.

Re: xmltv python script sort options

If you just want the data, you could just use the sqlite3 tool. This dumps all columns: sqlite3 -column -header -readonly SchedulesDirect.DB 'SELECT * FROM channels' If you don't want the whole row, you can replace the * above with one or more of the (comma separated) column names that are printed o...

Re: Fedora 33: Is It Safe?

I can only tell you that the MythTV Buildbots have F33 and it's compiling OK.

https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Release_Notes_-_31 may be of value and there
are other Release Notes for earlier versions.

Re: Moving recording rules to a new server

Never tried it. Obviously, new and old hosts must be on the same version of MythTV (which means that they're on the same DB schema version). Note that there's a recgroupid column in the record table and the ids must match the ones in the old recgroups table. If your goal is to prevent re-recording o...

Re: mythwelcome - does not shut down

mythbackend --setverbose idle, system may help. That command is used to
increase logging on a running backend.

Re: Mythtv V31 won't start

Agree with blm-ubunet. Try: ldconfig --print-cache|grep myth|grep 31 .
Perhaps v31 was built too and has stale libraries hanging around.

Re: MythTV 31 and Find_Orphans

Hi,

Short answer, update. Ubuntu users can do this:

Code: Select all

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mythbuntu/31
sudo apt update
sudo apt dist-upgrade
You have an old version. This has been fixed (more detail here:
viewtopic.php?f=36&t=4071).

Re: XMLTV Setup Messed Up

Hi,

Please do: ls -al /home/mythtv /home/mythtv/.mythtv /home/mythtv/.xmltv

If a FiOS.xmltv file exists in /home/mythtv/.xmltv in the ls above, then type:
cat /home/mythtv/.mythtv/FiOS.xmltv

Re: XMLTV Setup Messed Up

The error is fires when the ... .mythtv/FiOS.xmltv file doesn't exist or can't be written to. Literally, it Failed to write, as the error message says. FiOS is the name of a MythTV source here. See if the file exists. If it does, does the user running the command (either the grabber directly or myth...

The SQL output (lack of it) is good. I suspect I would have reformatted the drive too.

Re: [Solved] kswapd0 run as mythtv user at startup and daily using high cpu

Note that there is a dir.dir file in your /home/mythtv too. Running this command will see if major MythTV settings that can run programs are in play: mysql --user=mythtv --password=<from your config.xml> --host=localhost --execute="SELECT * FROM settings WHERE value LIKE '%Event%' OR value LIKE 'Use...

Re: XMLTV Setup Messed Up

The grabber is intended to be run by the backend which normally is run as user mythtv. Others choose different solutions, but the 'official' one is: if running the grabber on the command line, like the above, run it as user mythtv there too, e.g. sudo --login --user=mythtv mythfilldatabase --verbose...

Re: No upcoming recordings after mythconverg_restore.pl

See if the hostname (profile name) is the same in both cases.

18.04 running 20.04 stopped, then 18.04 stopped 20.04 running do:

curl --header accept:application/json localhost:6544/Myth/GetHostNam
