Re: Will mythtv be supporting SAT>IP ?

To be able to do so I had to write proper 'middleware' in form of a CUSE based virtual DVB device daemon. You can find the code at https://github.com/not1337/libsatip It looks like quite a bit of work has been put into this but I've had a hard time getting anything much to work. Too little informat...

Re: MythTV where next,..

Hi, Just to clarify my present position - I am certainly active in the sense that I try to make time for working on MythTV. That often doesn't work, but I try! When I started providing patches for DVD playback, work was fairly quiet and so I had more time and mental energy to work on it. Work is now...

New music metadata fields

Hi, Commit 0fb11bd adds support for reading the disc number and disc count fields from mp3 files. These fields are added to the metadata map, so pretty much any screen that shows the track number can now also the disc number and disc count as required with the 'discnum' and 'disccount' fields respec...

Re: Could not read first 2048 bytes

Hi Tom, I'm pretty sure it's due to the low bitrate of some radio streams. I tried to get a fix working for this a while back but it's a tricky problem. The frontend needs to buffer the data a bit to ensure smooth playback. It seems that ideally you want to buffer X seconds' worth of media, so the b...

Re: Rip DVD to ISO 0.27.4

Hi Harry,

There's no built-in support for ripping DVDs to ISO images.

As you noted, MythTV will happily play images but you'll need to use a third-party tool to create them.

Re: Internal Player - Stutter on busy network

Could you post some logs from the frontend when playback stutters?

Start the frontend with '-v playback --loglevel=debug'.

I can't guarantee it'll be possible to see what's happening but it's worth a try.

Which version of MythTV are you running? And which version of VLC?

Hi Jens,

das Verhalten ist leider 'normal' (soll heißen, Du hast nichts falsch gemacht). Der entsprechende Entwickler weiß Bescheid, aber ich kann Dir nicht sagen, wann der Bugfix kommt.

Re: UK dvb-t radio channels exit delay

I've noticed that 0.27 seems to have a problem with low bit-rate channels (i.e. audio only) but my system works fine with BBC radio when the MHEG content is displayed ('Enable interactive TV' is checked under the 'Playback OSD' settings). Turning that off or tuning to any audio-only channel causes m...

'Idle screen' update

Hi, As of commit [65279ac4] (https://github.com/MythTV/mythtv/commit/6527a9ac4), the idle screen now supports showing the current recordings, next recordings and schedule conflicts (similar to mythwelcome). Each of these is a buttonlist, called 'currentrecording', 'nextrecording' and 'conflicts' res...

Re: Mythtv on Ubuntu: Auto Shutdown problem

Yes. So something like:

mythtv ALL=NOPASSWD: /sbin/shutdown, /usr/bin/mythshutdown

Can you post the last few lines of the backend log where it outputs which command it's trying to run?

Re: Mythtv on Ubuntu: Auto Shutdown problem

You don't need mythwelcome to prevent shutdown. In mythtv-setup under '1. General', go to the page 'Shutdown/Wakeup options' (should be 'Impostazioni Arresto/Risveglio' in Italian). At the bottom of that page is a field 'Pre-shutdown-check command' ('Comando pre-arresto-controllo'). Whatever you put...

Re: Mythtv on Ubuntu: Auto Shutdown problem

Here's another example: http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Mythwelcome#Allow_a_user_to_run_the_MythShutdown_program_with_root_privileges I'm pretty sure it's just a problem getting the right configuration in sudoers. The fact that it works from the command line shows the commands are basically ok. It took m...

Re: Mythtv on Ubuntu: Auto Shutdown problem

I'm no expert on the sudoers file but the commands (mythshutdown, shutdown) should certainly be separated by commas. Are you using visudo to edit the sudoers for? You should be because visudo will check the grammar to ensure you don't accidentally cause all sudo access to be disabled. The start of t...

Re: Mythtv on Ubuntu: Auto Shutdown problem

I have both /sbin/shutdown and /usr/bin/mythshutdown in my sudoers file.
You probably need whatever program/script you use to set the wakeup time in sudoers too.
