Re: MythTV backend config problem.

It looks to me as though mysql isn't started. Try

Code: Select all

 sudo systemctl start mysql

Re: Losing db details on reboot

Hi bill6502, I think you're right again. I've just rechecked myth on tumbleweed but I just closed frontend and restarted it. Everything was working on the restart so it looks as though you've got it.
Thanks yet again.

Re: Losing db details on reboot

If I open mythfrontend and choose 'Watch TV' I get 'all tuners busy' message. So I start mythtv-setup and check. That's when i see the missing data. I reset everything and it works till the next time. I've checked mythconverg tables and I've got about 3 lots of channel scans, so they're still there ...

Re: Losing db details on reboot

Thanks for the prompt reply. Unfortunately that's not the answer. The init.d is empty. I don't think opensuse have used it for some time now.

[Solved]Losing db details on reboot

I have used opensuse tumbleweed for several years along with mythtv. I recently upgraded to myth-29 from source and now I seem to lose database details each time I log in. It's not my main system so I don't boot it frequently but this ha just started to happen the last 3 or 4 times. The main problem...

Re: Missing libmythxxx.so files

You were right bill6502. I created the conf with /usr/local/lib/ added, removed all the copy files from /usr/lib/ and ran ldconfig. Mythtv now works as it should. The strange thing is that neither of the opensuse systems needed that ld.so.conf.d file.
Thanks.

Re: Preserve This Episode via API?

I don't know if you're linux or ms and I really am out of touch with ms. A bash script setup would allow your wife to it with a $1 variable but I don't remember if an ms bat file handles variables in that way.

Re: Missing libmythxxx.so files

This what I get from ldconfig sudo ldconfig --print-cache | grep myth [sudo] password for root: libmythupnp-29.so.29 (libc6,x86-64) => /usr/lib/libmythupnp-29.so.29 libmythui-29.so.29 (libc6,x86-64) => /usr/lib/libmythui-29.so.29 libmythtv-29.so.29 (libc6,x86-64) => /usr/lib/libmythtv-29.so.29 libmy...

Re: Missing libmythxxx.so files

I'm not in manjaro at the moment so I'll look later and recheck that cat /etc/ld.so.conf... and ldconfig.

Re: Preserve This Episode via API?

Couldn't you just copy it to a separate folder or subfolder. I know that's not exactly what you asked but it would take seconds to run the command. I'm on linux but from dim and distant memory I'm sure that can be done on ms too.
Or even just drag and drop in a file manager.

Re: Missing libmythxxx.so files

I didn't change anything in the ./configure and all the libmythxxx files are installed correctly - ie /usr/local/lib. But what's happening, only in manjaro, is that mythfrontend looks in /usr/lib/. I've fixed it my way, it's just curious what causes it. I've installed from source in opensuse (leap a...

Re: Missing libmythxxx.so files

All my main library files are in /usr/lib/ in manjaro. I've installed myth-29 from source on 3 systems now and all myth lib files are placed in /usr/local/lib but it's only manjaro that doesn't see them there. bill6502, I think your code covers all lib files but it's only libmythxxx on manjaro that ...

[Solved] Missing libmythxxx.so files

I've just compiled myth-29 (not the arch version) on manjaro and it was missing library files. I checked and they were all there (/usr/local/lib) so I assumed that for some reason mythfrontend was looking in the wrong place. I copied all the files from /usr/local/lib to /usr/lib and myth now works p...

Re: Compile/install mythmusic plugin

Just to close this off. I have retried myth-29 from myth-0.28 and it now includes myth music on my main leap 15 system. It's hard to be sure now but I think I was missing fftw-devel and cdio-devel originally.
All is well now.
I also have manjaro on another partition but that's for another time!
