Re: Using ratings: G PG-13 R etc

I actually would like to see better utilization of MPAA ratings and replace the current "parental level" feature. I know this varies per country, but TMDB carries this data per release country, and you could always default to whatever is there, or have a conversion chart between the G, PG, PG-13, R,...

Re: Custom Channel Icons

Pad your custom icons such that they are the correct aspect ratio. No, don't do that, that'd be overkill and huge waste of time. You can force the aspect ratio in the theme for channel icons by entering the following in the .xml. <preserveaspect>true</preserveaspect> I submitted a patch for Tinted ...

Re: Troubleshooting "Watch Recordings" performance

I just got 3.8.0-37-generic on my ID80 and the Watch Recordings screen performance issue is gone! Yup! I can confirm that with 3.8.0-37 that my watch recordings screen is significantly more responsive. I also tried to upgrade to the 334.21 nvidia drivers, but it crashes mythfrontend, so I'm running...

Re: System time question

Not sure I understand? How would the time on the set top box impact the broadcast time? If the time on your STB is off, it shouldn't impact the broadcast time of the programs. Is this STB provided by a cable provider? There is a setting you could use, but I hesitate to point you in that direction, a...

Re: Odd front end calibration issue

Thanks guys. I've just ordered a Zotac Zbox to replace the foxconn - only an Atom processor, but has an NVDIA Geforce chipset which will hopefully handle the video ok. Which one? My ID-80 is great, except for the "Watch Recordings" screen is very slow. I think it's either a driver or kernel issue, ...

mythbuntu 12.04.04 - 3.8.0-35-generic

That's the only version I've ever ran, as this is a new deployment.

Re: Troubleshooting "Watch Recordings" performance

Interesting. Any idea what changed in the kernel that would have this kind of specific impact?

Troubleshooting "Watch Recordings" performance

I've recently deployed a new frontend, running on a Zotac ZBOX ID80 (http://www.zotacusa.com/zbox-id80.html). Everything is running great, except for one thing - the watch recordings screen is painfully slow to respond to input - ~1+ second to respond between entries, even more so when I try multipl...

It says it's trying to keep 67GB free. Are those other 67GB full as well? Could the disk be completely full?

Re: Report Forum Bugs or Errors Here

I have an additional question: The design of the MythTV website and forum is not the most modern. I think i could help redesigning both the website and the forum. I just want to know if the MythTV developer are interested in a new design. Cheers I by no means can speak for the developers of mythtv,...

Re: Working 0.27 Windows Build

There was a lot of work done by some contributors to make 0.26 build and work fairly well (respectively) on windows. However, those same people didn't contribute as much during the 0.27 development cycle. With 1 minor exception, none of the current core devs have spent much time working on Windows s...

Re: Development forum for clients?

My suggestion is to start with a "Third-Party Development / API" board. Then, monitor for a little bit, and if particular subjects are excessively popular and warrant their own board on the forum, then a board for that topic can be created and the topics moved there. But, as others have suggested, I...
