Re: seeking/editing in mythfrontend
After transcoding, I use ffprobe to extract the i-frame data, and update mythconverg's recordedseek and markup tables from that. See https://git.sdf.org/nb0yjxtr/ffmpeg-mythtv/src/branch/master/ffmpeg-myth.scm#L515 That would be an important point to put on the issue. We wouldn't want a dev spend d...

You can password protect some or all the Service API urls but not sure if that is what you are looking for.

Re: seeking/editing in mythfrontend
MythTV has never created or used mkv files for recordings so I'm with blm-ubunet on this one if it ever did work it was a fluke and not by design
Also are you sure ffprobe is creating the seek tables that doesn't sound possible

Great at least we know where the problem is now
Didn't know that option was only visible in debug builds. I'd drop an email to the developers list maybe someone knows why

Radio stream database has been updated
I've just done a long over due update of the radio stream database used by MythMusic . The database update has been semi-automated so will be updated more frequently from now on (at least 2 or 3 times a week). Vital statistics :- Total Number of Streams : 30419 Number of Broadcasters : 706 Number o...

Re: HD Playback problem with YLE-channels only
If it is our TS demuxer one possible workaround is to enable 'Use FFmpeg's original MPEG-TS muxer' (Setup->Video->Playback->General Playback)
Although the setting help text does say 'Things will be broken' so
Still be interesting to see if it does improve anything though.

Re: Install with MCP vs. iconnor ppa?
Only the Mythbuntu PPA's are updated and maintained by the MythTV developers. For MythTV v31.x (fixes/31) use https://launchpad.net/~mythbuntu/+archive/ubuntu/31 For MythTV v32-pre (master) use https://launchpad.net/~mythbuntu/+archive/ubuntu/32 MCP is the old Mythbuntu Control Panel that has been r...

Re: HD Playback problem with YLE-channels only
The last ffmpeg resync was in July 2020 and should bring us to ffmpeg v4.3.1. MariaDB 10.4.14 or above should be OK you don't have to downgrade 10.3 anymore.

Re: Scan Storage Function
He did say 'picture viewer' so that isn't relevant. I don't think there is a way to do it programmatically. Probably not to difficult to add something to mythutil like the --scanvideos and --scanmusic options. Nice little project for a beginner

Re: tuner card device file order control with udev
If your linux module driver for your cards supports the 'adapter_nr' parameter you can tell it to use a specific number for each adapter when it boots up. So if you pass 1,2,3,4 for the 'adapter_nr' parameter for one card it will always have /dev/dvb/adapter1 to /dev/dvb/adapter4. And for the other ...

Re: watching live TV for long periods: can I?
If it consistently stops playing say after 2 hours then it is probably exiting LiveTV after it's been idle for a while. There is a setting to control that under the TV Settings -> Playback -> General Playback -> Live TV idle timout (mins). Try setting it to a larger amount or set it to 0 to disable ...

Re: [Solved] tmdb3 crashes
libmyth-python is only a recommended package for mythtv-backend so wont be installed by default.
libmyth-python is a dependency of the mythtv-frontend package so will always be installed if the frontend is installed.

A UK station for another example is "Wonderful Radio London 266", What a cool find that's a real blast from the past  . Before my time of cause ;) but really interesting listening to the old records, jiggles and adverts. I recognise the voice of Tony Blackburn and Kenny Everett. The wiki page ...
