Re: radio streaming

A UK station for another example is "Wonderful Radio London 266", What a cool find that's a real blast from the past  . Before my time of cause ;) but really interesting listening to the old records, jiggles and adverts. I recognise the voice of Tony Blackburn and Kenny Everett. The wiki page ...

Re: MythTV Upgrade from v29 to v31 - MySQL FROZEN

I have one MariaDB server that hosts all my databases and appear to be 10.3.25 running on Ubuntu Server 20.04.1 LTS.

The clients mostly run on the latest Kubuntu or Xubuntu so are probably using slightly newer versions of the client. No where near on to check at the moment.

Re: radio streaming

OK thanks. Yeah I can confirm that first one does not work.

I can see why it's failing the format of the .pls playlist files it is sending has [Playlist] as the group marker when all the examples I've seen say it should be [playlist] all lower case. That should be an easy one to fix.

Re: CD playback takes much time to start

I'm slowly working on fixing this. I have a proof of concept patch that allows my to play CD's but fixing that opens a whole can of worms involving the media monitor and UDISKS2 support and the question of getting the metadata.

Re: MythTV Upgrade from v29 to v31 - MySQL FROZEN

I skimmed though the 20.04 release notes but didn't see anything about swapping MySQL for MariaDB. I know new installs prefer MariaDB over MySQL which is why I asked. There is nothing wrong with current MariaDB, I use it myself, if you set it up correctly. After Oracle took over MySQL, and the uncer...

Re: radio streaming

Nothing has change for a while on the MythMusic side other than the pointless code cleanups

Can you give an example of a radio stream that doesn't play (ideally one that I'm likely able to play in the UK).

Re: MythTV Upgrade from v29 to v31 - MySQL FROZEN

When you say you 'upgraded Ubuntu from 18.04 to 20.04' you are talking about an in place upgrade not a fresh install is that correct?

I'd be surprised if Ubuntu just unilaterally decided to remove MySQL and replace it with MariaDB without any warnings?

Re: V32 Mytharchive installed but no entry in menus(SOLVED)

I think the confusion is if you ask MythArchive to create or burn an ISO then it will use the directory from the MythArchiveTempDir setting. If you want to create a native archive and you tell it to a save to a directory then it will use the path you set in the native archive wizard plus the title o...

Re: Cannot change the path for the DVD in MythArchive

I see what the problem is while we can look for system files like the device files that represent dvd/cdroms the file chooser doesn't allow those to be selected for some reason! When you tell it to look for those it shows them OK you just can't select one of them.

Re: V32 Mytharchive installed but no entry in menus

In the settings for MythArchive there is a setting for 'MythArchive Temp Directory'. Change that to a location that the user running mythfrontend has permissions to both read and write files and has a lot of free space. I should say it's a very long time since I used the Native Archive. I know it us...

Re: Cannot change the path for the DVD in MythArchive

Fixes/31 does have the fix.

It could be something else. Do you see the dvd device in the file browser but can't select it?

Just a guess but it could be the host: mythtv0 you probably need to use localhost?

Re: V32 Mytharchive installed but no entry in menus

Are you sure you are still getting those errors when starting the frontend? If the MythArchive menu entries show now then that would suggest the database updated OK!
