Re: Is there a way to inhibit idle ie screensaver

This issue is being tracked on https://github.com/MythTV/mythtv/issues/216 but requires https://github.com/MythTV/mythtv/issues/218 being resolved first.

Re: add repo failing

Looks like that PPA only has packages up to eoan which is why it's refusing to be added to focal.

Re: White Box covers most of Screen

Modifying base.xml was a hack to verify the bug was being caused by what I thought it was and shouldn't be used on production systems it's not a proper fix it just masks the bug :!: The fix is to update to a recent version of MythTV that has the bug fix. It's not rocket science honestly  :twis...

Re: Is there a way to inhibit idle ie screensaver

MythTV does try to inhibit the screensaver when playing back a recording, video, play music etc. and works on most systems just fine. No idea what sway is but I believe Wayland is only partially supported even in current master so it's not surprising some things don't work as expected. It would be b...

Re: WebFrontend and canned searches

While MythWeb is EOL and is only getting critical fixes I believe it does still work even in the latest development version of MythTV. WebFrontend was supposed to be it's replacement but development has stalled so MythWeb is likely to stick around for a while longer. We would really like any interes...

Re: VBox TV Gateway, 4144, Software Version XTI_VT.2.66.5.2, too old?

Thanks for testing good to know it works OK. It looks like an interesting Android based VBox. I've got so many questions though. Wish they would be more specific about the specs on their website :) Any idea what processor is in it? How much memory does it have? What about internal storage? Can you u...

It will be interesting to here how you get on with that model. I think you are the first to try the new Android TV based VBOX with MythTV. I guess they must support the same API otherwise mythtv setup would not be finding it :?:

Re: XMLTV grabber for Schedules Direct JSON

You will typically find in the hidden .xmltv directory in the home directory of the user that did the setup. So most users use the mythtv user so you will find it at /home/mythtv/.xmltv/SchedulesDirect.DB

Re: When is disk usage updated on View Recordings menu?

Also one way to see the list of deleted recordings is to go to the 'System Status' page and move to the 'AutoExpire List' tab in the frontend. If you select a deleted recording you can choose 'Delete Now' which will actually delete the recording. If you have the '"Delete files slowly" option turned ...

Re: XMLTV grabber returned error code 1

I've only quickly skimmed through the thread so may have missed something but from my experience you get something like this error when you are missing a perl module and XMLTV is simply failing to run.

Re: XMLTV grabber returned error code 1

If that doesn't work copy this to both /home/mythtv/.mythtv/SD.xmltv and /home/<user name>/.mythtv/SD.xmltv if you want to run mythfilldatabase from that user terminal. cache=/home/mythtv/.xmltv/tv_grab_zz_sdjson.cache channel-id-format=default previously-shown-format=date username=your sd username...

Re: v31 and MXML files. How are they supposed to work?

It's a while since I used this, could be 2 or 3 years ago so something may have changed or been broken and I do use my own fork of MythTV and not everything gets committed to the official MythTV repo. The way I used to use it to import video into MythTV was I have a modified version of MythArchive t...

Re: Storage Group not found

I suspect the "Live TV" storage group is one of the built-in ones that are used for specific tasks. That one will be used to store the temporary recordings created when you watch Live TV using the frontend. You will have to create a new storage group using a different name and use that.

MariaDB 10.4 crashes

MariaDB 10.4 and 10.5 has a bug that causes it to segfault and then restart which causes problems for mythbackend. Users are advised to use MariaDB 10.3 or MySQL that doesn't seem to be affected until this bug is fixed upstream in MariaDB. https://jira.mariadb.org/browse/MDEV-20261 The bug is know t...
