Re: SQL errors in Mythweb

You can go straight from 0.28 to 30.0 that shouldn't be a problem. I don't use MythWeb but I believe it's working fine in 30.0 (just tried it and everything appears to be working). You appear to be using Ubuntu 16.04 LTS which is fine but out of the box Ubuntu only apply bug fixes to apps like MythT...

Re: Using Roku or Amazon Fire Stick for a front end?

On the Firestick you can add a different launcher to get rid of the in your face Amazon advertising ;) Also since this thread was started work has been started to get the native mythfrontend to work on android tv devices like the Firestick. It's still a WIP but is usable if all you want to do is wat...

Re: SQL errors in Mythweb

The fix for the group by problem was committed Oct 2016 :- https://github.com/MythTV/mythweb/commit/f02e5e2 The fix for the 00:00:00 date was committed Apr 2016 here :- https://github.com/MythTV/mythweb/commit/55ade6f31a So you need to upgrade to MythTV 29.0 or 30.0 and same for MythWeb. 0.28 is jus...

I think your problems would magically go away if you used a more up to date version of MythTV and MythWeb

Just change the 'Menu Theme' setting to Default.

You'll find it under Settings -> Appearance -> Theme / Screen Settings -> Menu Theme

Re: v30 Configure Shows "HDHomeRun support - no" - Will My HDHomeRun Tuner Still Work?

You probably need to install libhdhomerun-dev.

We used to have our own copy of that library in our source repo but we now use the system installed library instead.

Re: Deleted Recordings that Won't Delete from MythTV

This is usually a problem with file permissions. Check the user that runs the backend can delete those files by comparing the file permissions on those two bad files with other good recordings. I common way for this to happen is if the backend was run in a console, maybe to debug a problem, as a reg...

Re: Setting up a Linux MythTV server and web clients

If I've understood what you want correctly then I don't see why it couldn't be done. You would need a server to run mythbackend to do the recordings and store them. It would also run the plex server that your Roku's will connect to to play stuff. You could also have the frontend on there to administ...

Re: Recent MythNetVision Information?

Unfortunately the maintainer of MythNetVision seems to have abandoned it so it is slowly bit-rotting so parts of it are now failing. It will still make it into v30 due shortly but I wouldn't be surprised if it was removed for the next release unless someone takes the time to fix it. Volunteers alway...

Re: mythfilldatabase grabber failure

That message doesn't necessarily mean there is a problem, you will get it if you run mythfilldatabase twice in quick succession because the second time it is run there is no new data to insert into the database.

Re: Mythtv v 0.29.1 recorder offline, tuner has an error

The mythbackend.log is what you want. Depends on how you start the BE if it is created and where. I would start looking in /var/log/mythtv/

You can always just stop the BE and run it in a console to see the log output. You may have to start it as user mythtv to get it to work though.

Re: Can't Connection to DB (mythtv not linking to libQt5Sql)

Well at least that is one puzzle solved :) Don't know why you are getting the 'Driver not loaded' errors that would appear to be key and could be pointing to a Qt installation problem. Doesn't look like a permissions problem but wont do any harm to check the database is there and you can access it f...

Re: Can't Connection to DB (mythtv not linking to libQt5Sql)

When i check the libraries used for the mythtv executables, only sqlite appears. I'd expect to see libQt5Sql. mythtv@myth ~ % ldd =mythtv-setup.real|grep sql libsqlite3 => /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libsqlite3 (0x00007f1563fe2000) mythtv@myth ~ % ldd =mythfrontend.real|grep sql libsqlite3 => /usr/li...

Re: Lossless_cut

We should definitely try to get your work at least documented so others can take a look. I really think a lot of things like these should be incorporated into MythTV itself since it's something that a lot of people could use but it is a lot of work to maintain which I think puts a lot of people of. ...
