Re: Moving storage failed

There doesn't appear to be anything wrong with your file system although using the /media root dir wouldn't have been my choice to mount a new internal drive. Maybe /mnt, but I just created a /sdb dir since that's the real drive. Hr3e's mine. wes@mythfe0:~$ ll /sdb/recordings total 43740956 drwxrwxr...

Re: AMD Ryzen 3 2200G

MB is Asrock AB350 Pro4. Using bios 5.40 now but I see 5.60 is out now. Currently using kernel 5.0.2. I did use hdmi audio for a while, but the tv speakers sucked so using external speakers now straight from the PC. Just using hdmi for video. IIRC, the boot hangs stopped with 4.18 kernels and later

Re: Moving storage failed

Yeah looks like a permission issue. Ok so it is trying to put the .ts file in the root directory. I have no idea why that is happening. In mytv-setup do you set paths anywhere other than "Storage Directories?" I only have the "default," "livetv", and "screenshots" groups set, but that is all I ever...

Re: Moving storage failed

Permissions are set correctly, mythtv owns the directory. Mythtweb backend status says 0gb available, 0gb used. You don't have any recording space available. So you have something configured wrong in the setup. Double check everything. BTW, mythtv doesn't own my recordings dir and it works fine lik...

Re: Can't play videos using VLC

Well, it's pretty much a mute point now. I used ffmpeg to just fix the rotation in the file and it plays right with the internal player.

Re: Can't play videos using VLC

Not sure of the source of the file. Maybe a cell phone, but not sure. It came via email to an ipad. I mounted the ipad to my machine and copied the file over to my video dir. Default vlc plays it right side up. Mythtv internal player plays it on it's sidewith the top part to the left. Here are some ...

Re: Can't play videos using VLC

Long ago I used to set up NFS shares for music and videos before there was internal support in mythtv on remote FE's. I'm assuming I could still do the same for remote FE's now.

Re: Remote Recommendations

There are 100's on ebay for <$10. I've been using HP media center receiver/senders for over 10 years now, but basically any will work. I even used a serial port one long ago. A winfast model iirc. But it didn't work well at longer distances.

Re: Can't play videos using VLC

Good to know. Maybe that should be noted in the wiki, as it doesn't say that. https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/VLC Using the unique player setting vlc /sdb/videos/filename allows the video to play in vlc. is there a variable like %s that just passes only the filename? Or is there a way to rotate the imag...

Re: Mythtv as mediatomb replacement?

Yes you can have as many directories as you want for videos. You do need to do a rescan if you add them.

Re: Unexpected Recording Conflicts

Look at status page and see if all your tuners are available for recording. If not, reboot without shutting down power and see if that fixes it.
