Re: v0.29 Mythtv released

I figured they had this for other platforms, but I didn't realize it existed for OSX (although I'm also not surprised). Yes, I'm happy to dedicate a VM as a build bot client / slave. I have iso's for all recent OSX versions, so just let me know which one you prefer I set up. I figure either Sierra o...

Re: v0.29 Mythtv released

For what it's worth, if anyone else was waiting for an updated build script to be posted or an updated app bundle, it turns out warpme posted an updated git-master frontend a few weeks ago that works fine with the current Arch backend. So for now, I'm able to wait until progress is made here. I'm st...

Re: v0.29 Mythtv released

Maybe just commit it to a forked github branch so we can look at it together? I think we have a few people willing to help identify problems and resolve them.

Re: v0.29 Mythtv released

I see. Well, do you ever compile mythtv on your own outside of macports? I see there is a build process. However, there is no git files for the packaging for 0.29. Currently I have been unable to compile .28 or .29 with macports or the mythtv/packaging script. I have now tried on El Capitan, Sierra...

Re: v0.29 Mythtv released

http://blog.qt.io/blog/2017/05/11/introducing-long-term-support-qt-5-9/ Good memory! BTW, I also ran into this problem with Qt 5.10 and simply updated the regex check to correctly identify 5.10 as being ok. I had other problems compiling .28, so I'm still not sure what the magic combination is to ge...

Re: More current build instructions?

Thanks. I did see that post before but I didn't realize it listed versions of libraries. I'll try replicating his build first (Sierra + Qt 5.5 + MiniMyth patches). Once I get something working I can start bumping versions up. My initial attempts failed pretty quickly and it wasn't clear if it was my...

Re: More current build instructions?

I'm not happy with Arch running the FE on the mac mini. It has plenty of power but I'm having audio and video problems (nothing severe, I just think osx is nicer and more fluid). So that brings me back to compiling MythTV v29. It seems compiling is a bit of a moving target. Is there a known set of g...

Re: More current build instructions?

Thanks Craig. I'll set up an Arch frontend temporarily until things settle down. Once we have a stable v29 build script, would it help if I set up a daily build environment at home? Up until now I've just used MythBuntu as the backend and was happy running older frontends on the Mac. Now that I've s...

More current build instructions?

My MythTV backend is running on Arch and I've been able to get by with the fixes-29 build that was posted here in the forums. As expected, Arch finally upgraded to a new database version and I'm stuck deciding to either install Arch on my Mac Mini's or learn to build the OSX frontend from source. I'...
