Re: Considering Setting Up MythTV on Linux

1. I think I basically need a computer I can run Linux on, 4 tuners or a 4 tuner device (I think I've seen some out there), and the usual computer attachments (like mouse, keyboard, monitor...) to set up a MythTV backend. Do I need anything else? 2. Once I get a Linux system installed on a box, how...

Re: Mythrecmaze -- Record the TV shows you follow on TVmaze.com

I added logging and a simple GUI. I also improved the installation instructions.

It was disabled due to spam. Is there something short and easy you want to edit? I could make the edit, or you could request to be allowed to register from one of the moderators (might need a few more posts first).

Re: Hail Mary

Is there any resource out there, that gives a step by step, every single command, monkey see-monkey do, setup guide for mythtv? Example installation steps for installing MythTV v30 with Ubuntu 18.04 on an Asus H110T with Intel graphics and using an HDHomeRun Prime cablecard tuner* are available her...

Re: Pre-populate titles/categories/etc for easier scheduling of future shows?

Is there any comprehensive source for known titles/categories/etc. that may be imported to mythconverg, independent of schedule? Not that I know of. This would be great to pre-populate a new MythTV system, to make it easier to schedule programs that have not yet been loaded my mythfilldatabase and ...

If you are using the ppa, sudo apt install mythplugins will install MythWeb.

Re: version 30 mythweb

Yes. Navigate to [ip address]/mythweb/tv/list, select one of the guide entries, and change the recording status. Another option is to navigate to [ip address]/mythweb/tv/schedules/custom, and enter the recording manually.

Re: video settings for Intel i5-8400 CPU and 630 GPU

The picture quality is very good with no jagged edges. My TV indicates the source is 1080p. I'm not sure why this works given the lacking support for Intel graphics.

Re: video settings for Intel i5-8400 CPU and 630 GPU

I'm currently using an i3-7100T with Intel HD Graphics 630. Some of my channels are 1080i, and I have a 1080 resolution TV. I have VAAPI Normal set for the video playback profile, and I have the deinterlacer set to None.

Re: Some channels work...others don't

In my old setup those two HDHRs are defined as 4 tuners and 4 inputs. In the current version of myth, there doesn't seem to be a way to do that. Am I right in assuming that in it's current incarnation MythTV is smart enough to figure out there are 2 tuners on each HDHR on it's own? I'm not familiar...

Re: Where is MySQL

There is generally no need to be concerned about or do anything with the database. In addition to the helpful forum post you mentioned, there are example installation steps from myself here and from Jim A here. Which step are you getting stuck on?

Re: Where is MySQL

Yes, entering the following commands in the terminal includes the installation of the database:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mythbuntu/30
sudo apt install mythtv
