Re: video settings for Intel i5-8400 CPU and 630 GPU

Do you override your video card to output a 1080i signal so your tv hardware deinterlaces or do you output 1080p and and live with the jagged edges?

Re: tower direction in mythconverg channel table for antenna

I think you all are right. I'll store the information outside the table. That way I have no chance of messing things up. By the way, I'm actually aiming stacked UHF and VHF antennas. I have one of these for the rotator. http://www.rcaaudiovideo.com/search/?ks=rotator I'm using a LIRC blaster to cont...

tower direction in mythconverg channel table for antenna

I was wondering if I could add a field to the mythconverg channel table. I want to add a new field containing compass degrees (0-355). The field would help me aim my antenna rotator to the appropriate location based on the location of my house. Problem is I don't know if the extra field will break M...

Re: How do I setup system events?

Thanks for the info. I run my frontend and backend on the same machine so that explains the behaviour. I guess the case with no frontends running is covered this way. Seems like the number of configurable system events should really be doubled (duplicated). Half would be associated with the frontend...

Re: How do I setup system events?

Guess I can have the mythtv user touch and remove a file in the /tmp dir (/tmp/screensaver_off) with the various system events. Then I can have the frontend user run a script like the one below (I'll put it in the startup applications). Not the most elegant, but I guess it works. If there is a bette...

Re: How do I setup system events?

Ok, I half figured out my problem. Looks like system events are run by the backend. So that is the mythtv user. I got my touch command to work when I changed the path to /tmp. Now I have a new problem. How do to my "gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.session idle-delay" commands to run as the frontend ...

How do I setup system events?

I have the new ubuntu 14.04. My screen currently turns off during playback. To try and prevent this I've defined 2 system events. 1) EventCmdPlayStarted gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.session idle-delay 0 2) EventCmdPlayStopped gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.session idle-delay 60 The first event t...
