I had the same problem trying to install 16.04.2 kernel 4.8.0-36 and -48. I used Nautilus to search computer for "ctn91xx_net.c ". Nautilus found 6 copies. I edited Line 162 using leafpad on all 6 copies and the driver installed and now working. Thanks so much. EDIT ctn91xx_net.c line 162 ...
