Re: Hauppauge HVR-2255 and Ubuntu 16.04

Yes that would have worked on my last system (Debian) and should probably work on this standard mythbuntu install, but when I checked dmesg today for this post, my dmesg output only consisted of many apparmor nags. But the adapter creation is in the kernal log from the last boot up. I am still on th...

Re: Hauppauge HVR-2255 and Ubuntu 16.04

All good advice. I have an older 2250 on LTS 16.04 with the stock generic kernel. My adapters are all owned by root. $ ls -al /dev/dvb/adapter0 . ls: cannot access '/dev/dvb/adapter0': No such file or directory As you do not have an adapter in /dev/dvb/ the kernel is not recognizing your tuner and c...

Re: Ubuntu 14.04.1 Configuration of mythtv backend

If you have not yet fixed this From your Mysql printout one sees this does not seem to have been done. GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON *.* TO 'mythtv'@'192.168.0.%' IDENTIFIED BY 'mythtv' WITH GRANT OPTION; Try that one again, but perhaps your installation woud be more secure as (and I have not yet needed t...

Re: Ubuntu 14.04.1 Configuration of mythtv backend

Database backups are good... do one before you start adjusting the database...any non-existant warranty is voided and you may need to restore it from the original. Permissions/ownerships/groups - are for the directories that you assigned to the categories - recordings, videos etc. with mythtv-setup. ...

Re: Ubuntu 14.04.1 Configuration of mythtv backend

You do not mention if this is a clean install including a new database or if you are using your old database. There are several different locations (3 to 6+) for the location of the configuration files and more configuration is needed than just that file. Check each one to be sure the right password...

Re: Upgrade-Debian mythtv-database 0.27.0+fixes20140403 fail

I will be looking at this again in another couple of days and my first thought is to reinstall the database backup from before the upgrade as I suspect the database is corrupted? Any other thoughts?

Re: Upgrade-Debian mythtv-database 0.27.0+fixes20140403 fail

First of all thanks to all who have previously looked at this to see if they could help. I was cautious and slow in the next sessions for the fix with the risk of loosing myth for a while while season finales were being aired. I finally got back to it on the weekend and upgraded to 27.1 unfortunatel...

Upgrade-Debian mythtv-database 0.27.0+fixes20140403 fails

Hi, my latest upgrade from an earlier version of 27 fixes had issues updating the database (and as a result the mythtv) package. The combined BE-FE is still working but after some exploring, I am not quite sure what to do next. Aptitude outputs on an attempt (after the orginal failure) to reinstall ...
