Re: MariaDB 10.4 crashes

MariaDB 10.4.14 has been released (as of August 10) and the changelog at https://mariadb.com/kb/en/mariadb-10414-changelog overtly notes the release includes the fix for https://jira.mariadb.org/browse/MDEV-20261

Re: Problem getting Guide information with Mythtv 31

As I understand the architecture, the grabber is using sqlite for its guide reconciliation processes which are done independently of Mythtv. Mythfilldatabase just "forwards" the reconciled guide from the grabber's database into Mythtv's database. Mythtv, itself, requires a "full service" sql reposit...

Re: Problem getting Guide information with Mythtv 31

I've been a user of Mythtv for over 20 years and usually just take the mythbuntu and run with it however I'm taking a different approach with my new system and using Fedora 32. Everything setup ok but I have two problems to which I can't seem to figure out. Heads up on using Fedora 32. It is using ...

Re: Time for a new motherboard

My mini towers did come with an AMD card, which I promptly removed. I am using the "stock" video system provided by the motherboard which is a function of the CPU. My system is exclusively dealing with OTA capture thus needs only to decode MPEG-2 which the i5-3470's internal HD 2500 is spec'd to do....

Re: Time for a new motherboard

If you're willing to entertain a mini tower solution, might I recommend a Dell Optiplex 3010? Earlier this year, I picked up 5 systems for $102 including tax/delivery each, off of Ebay that came with 1TB, 8GB, Intel i5-3470, DVD drive and a Win10 license (Win10 is not being used but it was included)...

Re: HDHR recordings fail with "ERROR: lock no longer held"

After reading the aforementioned ticket about EIT scanning, a question about EIT popped into the ol' noggin. Is the EIT scan being "pulled" only refer to the channel that the tuner has selected? Or is the EIT "feed" for the market being served? I ask cause I have a tuner for each and every OTA chann...

Re: HDHR recordings fail with "ERROR: lock no longer held"

A fuzzy memory in the back of my mind tells me that the lock errors you're seeing is/could be the tuner failing to "lock" on the OTA station due to signal conditions. Memory goes like this... antenna's pre-amp starts to get temperature sensitive (and the pre-amp lived in my attic) so the signal was ...

Re: Unable to get cable channels.

Have you considered just replacing Mariadb with Oracle's Mysql? Or rolling back to Fedora 31?

Re: Recorder failed

To the logs! More specifically to the mythbackend logs.

If the log isn't helpful, try bumping up the loglevel to debug and record some arbitrary program.

Let the hunt begin!

Re: Unable to get cable channels.

Julian.... I noticed you overtly stated you're running Fedora 32. As a "head's up!," Fedora 32 is using a version of MariaDB that can crash from Myth queries. See https://forum.mythtv.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3720 (I am a Fedora user and am holding at Fedora 31 till this 10.4 issue goes away) Robert

Re: [Solved] Mythpreviewgen Not Happy

I went over my initial build notes and at one point I had done:

Code: Select all

dnf -y install qt5*
That brought in the PBF plugin. One can still blanket the qt5* packages but I would just chase it with a

Re: Mythpreviewgen Not Happy

So building the PBF plugin from scratch and installing same matched the problems I was seeing with the packaged installed PBF pluging. So I just flat removed the /usr/lib64/qt5/plugins/imageformats/libpbf.so file, ran /sbin/ldconfig and restarted mythtvbackend and everything is happy! Both the comma...
