Re: Channel Scan Crashes at 100%

Thanks for the log. It looks like this could also be the "Logical Channel Numbers required" option. The previous poster @marynya indicated this. Have you tried unchecking the "Logical Channel Numbers required" option? Can you please log the complete output of mythtv-setup when started with the follo...

Re: HD Playback problem with YLE-channels only

I have added a fix to the MythTV demuxer so you might now have better results when the "Use FFmpeg's original demuxer" is unchecked. This fix is done only in master so you need to upgrade to the latest master for this.

Re: Frontend on a Pi4: 0.30 v 0.31

For European broadcast I would go for 1920x1080@50Hz.

Re: MythTV Live TV not working on HDHomeRun

I think you can ignore the recording type option. Check the storage group configuration. It could be that there are different locations configured for recording and for live TV and that it is not possible to write to the location for live TV.

Re: Two HDHomeruns stop recording at the same time

Another long shot, could it be disk space? Check the free space on your root partition. Is there something happening on the backend when the connection drops? For example, if you do an automatic database backup each night and this fails because of lack of space anything can happen.

Re: seeking/editing in mythfrontend

Hi Leo, As this seems to be a bug, I suggest that you create a Github issue for this. That will at least make certain that it is not forgotten, which unfortunately does happen occasionally when issues cannot be resolved immediately. The Github issue list is the poster board where devs can look at wh...

Re: Two HDHomeruns stop recording at the same time

That the two HDHRs fail at exactly the same moment rules out that it are the individual HDHR power supplies that give the problems. However, I still think it is power related. It could be the power supply of the switch for instance. It could also be a disturbance on your power lines, e.g. by a heavy...

Re: ATSC 3.0

OK, those are both good answers. The way forward is to use the mythhdhrecorder and the externalrecorder. Once you have that all running it would be very good to put the whole procedure somewhere on the MythTV WIki to help everybody who is struggling with this. And once there are recordings we can ha...

Re: Two HDHomeruns stop recording at the same time

This error is usually caused by a failing power supply. That two of them stop at the same time is strange however.
Does this also happen when there is only one HDHR in use?

Re: ATSC 3.0

The way forward is to make a development branch of mythtv and then update ffmpeg to the development version that supports AC-4. Since that is also beyond my pay grade we have to ask this friendly and then it just might happen, but we have to have ATSC-3.0/AC-4 recordings first to make that useful.

Re: ATSC 3.0

For this error you can try

Code: Select all

st->request_probe = 0
The AC-4 patch must be from a different version of ffmpeg than what is in mythtv. But it just might work....

Re: ATSC 3.0

Hi Neil, Can you please ask the following question to the HDHR folks? In MythTV we support all HDHomeRun boxes using the libhdhomerun API. We want to support the new 4K box so that we can receive the programs in the ATSC3.0 streams. Is there documentation or a programming example on how to achieve t...

Re: ATSC 3.0

The log shows that the "atsc3:<frequency>" command does indeed make a difference, it seems to go in lock now. Next step is then to start the streamhandler (the "RunTS" line) but either no data is received or the data cannot be parsed. To figure that out there is a new patch attached, 20210403-hdhr-a...

Re: ATSC 3.0

Hi Neil, Find attached patch 20210402-hdhr-atsc3-00.patch which can be applied to a recent master. This is just for testing; it forces the modulation method from 8vsb to atsc3 for all HDHomeRun tuning attempts. This means you will not scan any of the atsc1.0 channels but with a bit of luck this give...
