Re: Can't get TBS6522 to scan DVBC

Please have a look at https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Channel_Scanning#DVB-S.2FS2_configuration In mythtv-setup Capture Card configuration you have to select a Delivery system. This is by default the first one in the list and for my TBS6528 on frontend0 the default is DVB-T with additional choices DVB-T...

Re: Twinhan 3250 tuner works great in Windows, only half channels in Linux?

The problem here is most likely more than just changing a constant. Writing and fixing tuner drivers does require the chip documentation and low-level debugging capabilities. There have been enthusiasts who have written Linux drivers by reverse-engineering the way a chip has to be controlled by capt...

Re: .31 EIT peculiar issues at Rowridge channel 27

Glad that this does solve your problem. Your new issue is not something that I can help you with. I suggest that you create a new topic on the Forum as this will get you more attention and it will make it easier to find later for people with similar issues.

Re: Twinhan 3250 tuner works great in Windows, only half channels in Linux?

Never bet with wesnewell, he is right about this being a driver issue. What happens is that MythTV gets from the driver information about the minimum and maximum frequency that the device can handle. When tuning, MythTV does give a warning when the frequency is out of the allowed range and then it a...

Re: Twinhan 3250 tuner works great in Windows, only half channels in Linux?

The command as given should work for the bash shell. But you can also make a log file as follows that works with every shell: mythtv-setup -v general, channel, chanscan, record --loglevel=debug --logpath=. This will create a file with a name like mythtv-setup.20200729204624.164233.log in your current d...

Re: Twinhan 3250 tuner works great in Windows, only half channels in Linux?

I agree about the interesting. If you are willing to make a full debug log of a "Full Scan" then I will take a look at it. You can make the log like this: mythtv-setup -v general, channel, chanscan, record --loglevel=debug 2>&1 | tee ms-20200731-2151.log and then attach the log file ms-20200731-2151.lo...

Re: Twinhan 3250 tuner works great in Windows, only half channels in Linux?

After changing scan settings you go back to the previous menu with the left arrow key "<" on the keyboard (or the remote control). See also this page https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Channel_Scanning#ATSC_configuration in the wiki. Please note that my suggestion to use e.g. QAM-256 was intended as an exa...

Re: Issue with tuner and channel scans

Maybe the error message is correct and your firmware file got somehow corrupted. You can check the size and the checksum. On my system it looks like this: [klaas@modu ~]$ ls -l /lib/firmware/*si2158* -rw-r--r--. 1 klaas apache 5015 May 13 2019 /lib/firmware/dvb-tuner-si2158-a20-01.fw [klaas@modu ~]$...

Re: .31 EIT peculiar issues at Rowridge channel 27

I have only seen similar behavior when there are two different video sources and the same channel appears in both video sources. EIT guide data is per video source and one of the video sources can have EIT guide data and the other possibly not. In the program guide the channels from all video source...

Re: Schema issue on new Xubuntu 20 system using 31+fixes from mythbuntu

It could just be that I missed something when implementing the service_type. Please create a ticket and add a full log of mythtv-setup that produces the error, not only the failing lines. It is very interesting to know if it also goes wrong on master/v32.

Re: Twinhan 3250 tuner works great in Windows, only half channels in Linux?

It could be that your Twinhan can do the tuning but that it needs to be told to use e.g. QAM-256 instead of QAM-Auto. Modern tuners tend to be better at autodetecting tuner parameters than older tuners. So you can try the following. First do the scan with the USB tuner. You then have a complete and ...

Re: Error parsing parameters

If you now get with mythtv-setup the message "Failed to find any channels" that means you do not get the "Error parsing parameters" anymore, correct? That it is working in Windows means you hardware is installed correct and that your satellite is pointed in the right direction. OK. Really make sure ...

Re: Error parsing parameters

This error indicates that it does not have the information it needs to tune the card and it usually comes when trying the "Full Scan (Tuned)". If you do a "Full Scan (Tuned)" then you must press the right arrow key, then fill in the modulation parameters for the first channel you want to receive, th...

Re: Myth 29 - channel scan finds no channels when previously worked.

Glad that it is working! You could consider moving to v31/fixes or master as this has now support for dvbv5. Which might be needed for your new tuner.
