Re: Which SAT>IP Server should I get?

It is a shame that VBox don't do a 4 DVB-S2 tuner version as I would have considered one of them. Based upon what I have read, I think I might go for the Digibit R1 - seems to have the most positive reviews (though I have heard that it uses a bit more power than the others). I shall let you know how...

Which SAT>IP Server should I get?

Hello, I am looking to get myself a SAT>IP tuner and have come across these three: http://www.triax.com/products/satellite/sat-ip/tss-400-sat-ip-server https://www.megasat.tv/en/produkte/megasat-satip-server-3-2/ https://www.conrad-electronic.co.uk/ce/en/product/944064/Sat-IP-server----Telestar----D...

Re: Internal TV Tuner Advice - DVB-T2 and DVB-S2

Thank you both for your responses. On reflection, I think perhaps six tuners is a bit unnecessary in the circumstances. As I watch channels that are unique to both Freesat and Freeview. I am going to need both so perhaps two tuners for each should easily suffice - the question then is whether it is ...

TV Tuner Advice - DVB-T2 and DVB-S2

Hello, I am after some tuner cards and would be really grateful to know what is recommended. I need two DVB-T2 tuners and four DVB-S2 tuners. I don't necessarily need them to work out of the box - just as long as they can run properly without doing anything ludicrously complicated. Any help would be...

MythTV and Drivepooling

Hi, I am thinking of giving MythTV another go (having failed to get it going at all, due to my then serious lack of Linux knowledge). I was jut looking at the Wiki and I note that the program cleverly uses Drivepooling for recordings - i.e it will see two hard drives as one and can use either for re...

Re: Advice for a Linux novice, hoping to switch from Argus T

Hi there, Been messing around with MythTV a bit more and I finally got one of the TV cards working - took a bit of fiddling with the firmware but this is definitely helping me understand how Linux works. Just a few other quick questions: 1. Is it possible to disable Live TV altogether? 2. ...from yo...

Re: Advice for a Linux novice, hoping to switch from Argus T

Thank you - I shall give it a go and only worry if I do run into any problems. Just one more thing, if I may - at the moment, I have 3 HDDs in my server (in addition to the SDD) that deal with all my recordings and storage. I use these as one giant 10TB drivepool, via a great piece of software calle...

Re: Advice for a Linux novice, hoping to switch from Argus T

Many thanks for that - I shall have a go with Mythbuntu, as recommended, this weekend. I think I shall install and run everything from a spare Hard Drive first as I am bound to make some mistakes getting everything up and running. I am so glad that you mentioned checking my Tuner Cards. I have two: ...

Advice for a Linux novice, hoping to switch from Argus TV

Hi there, I have been using Argus TV backend on my headless server for many years now without any problems. However, things have ground to a big halt recently and I am looking to change to something new that is still in development. MythTV seems to be the only real rival to Argus TV with its very in...
