Re: External Tuners

How are you trying to stream? My RPi2 running Kodi with the myth pvr plugin works fine with liveTV and recorded programs.

Re: MythTV where next,..

No worries, guess I'll just wait for 0.28. Thanks for all the hard work!

Re: MythTV where next,..

So from a completely selfish perspective :) Would it be possible to backport any of the new web services to 0.27? I'm using several RPi2 devices running Kodi and the newer mythtv pvr plugin uses web services instead of logging directly into the mysql database. One of the things that was lost during ...

Re: Small/cheap frontend suggestions

Not sure what might be different with your setup, but I have no issues with fanart for TV shows being fetched and displayed. I don't record that many movies off of cable, so I've never noticed if those fetch fan art. For recorded TV I might just leave them in place. For movies, I'd use something lik...

Re: Small/cheap frontend suggestions

Just the standard Confluence. Kodi is pretty zippy for me on the RPi2, especially compared to my first experience on the original RPi >1 year ago. I just recently setup the option to use MySQL as the shared video and music database for Kodi. I like it saving the watched vs unwatched and last played ...

Do you have Airplay turned on by chance? This happened to me until I disabled it.

Re: Small/cheap frontend suggestions

There is no suspend for the PI, so shutting it down doesn't allow it to be restarted until the power is pulled and reconnected. Since it draws <5w and is a pain to manually restart, this is the reason most folks just leave it on 24x7. Did you get a PI or a PI2? I've been using a PI2 and love it. The...

Ok. Sounds like you have some network or hardware issues. Nobody else has a similar experience.

Re: Help: MythTV is constantly broken

You still haven't given a concrete example of something that breaks (quite often) and what was required to fix it. I don't think anyone can offer much in the way of suggestions or help without that information. Again, my experience has been completely different. MythTV has been rock solid and has a ...

Re: HD Homerun Prime with multiple Kodi front ends

I have an HD Homerun Prime and Charter is my provider. My backend runs on a desktop computer that can also run a frontend. I have an Atom/Nvidia computer running mythfrontend and then 2 tiny ARM systems (a raspberry PI and a Cubox I2) running OpenELEC 5.0 / Kodi 14(Helix). I have never had any of th...

Re: Help: MythTV is constantly broken

You don't mention much about your specific configuration. You appear to be in Canada? I'm in the USA so I don't know much about the various TV offerings in Canada (satellite, cable, terrestrial). I've been using MythTV since .21 and maybe even before. I have cable from Charter. I started out with an...

Re: Channel Group API call

Thanks for the info. The GetChannelGroupList call doesn't appear to exist in 0.27. The only endpoints under guide are GetChannelIcon, GetProgramDetails and GetProgramGuide. Perhaps it will all work better together when 0.28 is officially out.

Channel Group API call

In addition to running MythTV 0.27 on a backend server and an Atom/Nvidia front end, I also use XBMC/KODI on a raspberry PI. The mythtv pvr plugin recently changed from logging into mysql and looking at the mythtv tables to using the services API, which I think is a good thing. Unfortunately, the se...

Re: Best place to manage channel lineups

I think after you disable them in SchedulesDirect you have to run mythfilldatabase. I recall using options --do-channel-updates and --only-update-channels. After experimenting with the various options, I finally got a combination that removed all of the disabled channels from mythtv.
