Re: Recommended DVB-S2 USB dongle

I don't understand the relevance of using mythfilldatabase but I never got udev to stably identify the tuners so you might be correct. I also tried :- 'More complicated setup with multi-tuner cards having no difference in udevadm info output coexisting with other cards based on the same A/V decoder'...

Re: HD playback on a Pi3?

Leanfront was only recently updated to work reliably with Freeview UK HD (October 5th) N.B select ffmpeg for audio decode. I have heard the original Fire Sticks were somewhat underpowered but it may be worth another try. My quite old Sony Vaio which is seriously underpowered now works well with Lean...

Re: HD playback on a Pi3?

Weird I agree with Jim, playback on Fire Stick just works and get jitter on Raspberry Pi 4. Tested on F4K and Fire TV Stick 2020 version, both work fine with HD. Both particularly good with Leanfront. I wonder if the good performance with Raspberry Pi is a function of the TV used, I could never get ...

Re: Telestar Digibit Twin SAT/IP

Had second thoughts - the potential to get rid of some wiring spaghetti was just too great so. Sent it back and exchanged it for the Digibit R1 quad recever a much better device that works out of the box with master v32-Pre-1707-gf328b56be9. Still some minor issues whicjh I will start a new thread o...

Re: Telestar Digibit Twin SAT/IP

Thanks for the response. By configuration utility I meant the web interface. This device is really simple it does not have the Network and m3ulist items on the 'System' menu that the Digibit B1 does (looking at the latter's manual) So it looks like its got to be returned. The device did successfully...

Telestar Digibit Twin SAT/IP (solved!)

Attempting to get a this SAT/IP box working with master Mythtv. v32-Pre-1660-g3a243d67f1 Setup detects the device fine but there is no way to configure the LNB. The setup utility that comes with the box does not support this either but it is connected to a normal Sky type LNB so there should not be ...

Re: UK Freesat and Multirec

Thanks i will give it a try with a quad LNB receiving from a single satellite via a Telestar DIGIBIT Twin .
It will take me some time to get hold of a box and sort out the wiring.
Thanks.

Re: UK Freesat and Multirec

The code that is now in master has also four different capture cards as seen in mythtv-setup but they all connect to the first physical antenna input.
Sounds great please post when you have tested all four inputs working on different antenna inputs and give some indication of reliability under load.

Re: UK Freesat and Multirec

The Sat>IP support in master is completely stable but it supports only a single input and it does not yet support DiSEqC. Klaas could you clarify the above does a 'single input' mean a single connection to a LNB. I note that you have tested with a quad receiver, can all four connections be used sim...

Re: UK Freesat and Multirec

Yes you are correct. BBC1HD &BBC2HD are the only useful ones that I know of broadcast on the same multiplex. See the thread https://forum.mythtv.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4068 for discussion concerning some of the issues. I would go for sat/ip if I was starting again with a new system going for a quad...

Re: Recommended DVB-S2 USB dongle

If you get good results from Freeview HD I would stick with that.
Note that there is no EPG for Channel 4HD on Freesat, there is a workround but it adds more complexity.
Keep it simple.

Re: Recommended DVB-S2 USB dongle

I have spotted an article indicating it may not power the LNB on 1st attempt until the windows app has been used. That issue is fixed if you use the latest driver which is included in the Hauppauge ppa and also possibly in recent kernels - not in 5.4. Regarding the "DVB-T2 Hauppauge WinTv-dualHD" I...

Re: Recommended DVB-S2 USB dongle

damion2 if you want to run more than one USB device at the same time note that you will need Udev rules to allocate them device numbers as described in https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Device_Filenames_and_udev . Something like :- # Create a symlink /dev/dvb/adapter108 & 109 pointing to dualHD with seria...
