Re: Premium TV with HDHomerun tuners

Agreed. Another difference is the ability to use programming when out of town, as we generally do. With Sling TV, I could use it anywhere. With Premium TV from SD, I'd have more difficulty since I would have my HDHR with me. I could VPN in, etc., but, not quite as nice. I can also transfer recording...

Re: Premium TV with HDHomerun tuners

So, it appears there are some changes needed for full (easy) support. I know one of the problems is some channels have west coast sources, some have east coast, and therefore the times are all messed up for recording purposes. Guide data will eventually become available to resolve that (one could cr...

Re: HDHomeRun Premium TV

I have not done this yet as I will not be using it until year end when a contract runs out. I'll look for your post there.

HDHomeRun Premium TV

Anyone see the announcement? Perhaps I am late to the game, but, as far as I know, this is the first time it's trivial to record using MythTV from a streaming TV service. I think this is a fantastic announcement! So, recording the "cable" channels and live tv OTA channels can be done via the same sy...

Another Tool to Automate

Since moving from from a Windows system, I've really missed having EventGhost. I've found a pretty good tool, I think so at least. I am using inputexec, a python program: https://github.com/rbarrois/inputexec I am using it with an built in IR transceiver in my Intel Nuc (evdev). It assists with auto...

Re: How to import videos

It actually works with V29. I simply used the patch (adjusted for line #'s in V29) and compiled up mythtv using the patch and it works great in V29. Loving it!

Re: Build from source on ubuntu

Ah, thank you, packaging scripts, perfect! Sorry, always done Centos, didn't realize deb would work for ubuntu, just not familiar with the other dists.

Build from source on ubuntu

So, I came from Centos for the last 10 years, and, am new to ubuntu (xubuntu specifically). In the build from source wiki page, it says: "If you have already installed a pre-built package and you have a need to try out a source code change, it would be preferable to use your distribution's build pro...

Re: Preserve This Episode via API?

Thanks, I totally forgot but I've been in rotator cuff recovery for a while now and it HURTS, badly. At week 13 now. But at least I am getting back in the gym, as a total weakling now, but starting.

Re: Preserve This Episode via API?

Yes, that is true, can be done (now) via a userjob. This was posted before that change of course. I would think the request to make all recorded settings changeable from a single endpoint to be much more important and of course handle this one. Is that an official request on a list somewhere? If so,...

Re: Preserve This Episode via API?

A script is not ok, this is not a solution for the wife. She wouldn't even know how to login let alone type in a command, and no, that's not the way it should be done. I am asking for it to be in the API one day if it is not. I will need to submit an official request I suppose since no one has said ...

Re: Preserve This Episode via API?

The backend is headless. Could I vnc in and do so? Sure, but, my wife cannot. And, I am not around every time she wants to save something and do this. So, no, that is not practical.

Re: v0.29 Mythtv released

In the future, I may well submit patches, but probably only for things that affect me as my time is elsewhere now. However, I absolutely hate it when developers join a project and know everything and make claims it's done wrong, etc. Code should be done to the standards and style of the existing cod...

Re: v0.29 Mythtv released

Craig, not willing to get into the Macports discussion for a third time, we've discussed it, enough said. But you have and continue to do great work and are a huge help to Mac users here. I for one will always applaud all of the very hard work you have done and continue to do. Regarding Mac OSX, you...

Re: v0.29 Mythtv released

Yes, there is such an installer, but it does not behave like a regular app, does not install in normal OSX directories, doesn't work with all the plugins, etc. But it is a lot better than it used to be, since no more terminal commands, good job there. My understanding is it's subject to the same ol ...
