Re: Mythfilldatabase Using Unencrypted Authentication?

Would it be possible to encrypt this traffic using SSL instead? That would likely be the legacy DataDirect protocol (I am not sure if https is even offered there). I would recommend converting to one of the new JSON based SchedulesDirect grabbers and it will use https (and you will get more days of...

mythfilldatabase --do-not-update-logos

[Note: this is being filed due to a request elsewhere; I have a nearly zero personal interest, so will not be pursuing this, and I have no idea of the devs would even consider it a good idea, but I am guessing the total code is in the dozen or so lines magnitude, so maybe someone will feel it is a g...

Re: hdhrepg2myth - HDHomeRun Live TV Guide to MythTV

Schedules Direct is a great option for guide data, but if you own an HDHomeRun Prime you may be interested in the program described below. I just saw this post. All should be aware of the following SiliconDust T&C's. Guide data and images: Guide data and/or images may not be used outside of Silicon...

Re: Two identical SD JSON APIs

Well spotted! The original justification for the interim tv_grab_sd_sdjson (which essentially just re-execs to the tv_grab_zz_sdjson module) is that it provides a "one time" transition, and will warn people (if one runs the grabber manually) that you need to transition NOW! for those that had confi...

Re: Mac Mini running El Capitan, not getting program data

Speaking of which.... Has anyone in the myth project considered using foreign keys and restraints in mariadb to prevent people from mucking up tables for the most part? Also has the side effect of catching program bugs as well. The MythTV project does have people who understand databases quite well...

Re: Upgrade to Digital

My cable company has (of course) recently changed from analog to digital, which breaks the above. You did not mention your MSO, but it is not unusual that when they drop the final analog transmissions they also remove clear QAM, requiring a CableCARD OCUR tuner (a simple clear QAM tuner will not wo...

Re: Great support from TBS

Just to let you all know, I Have had some really good support from the team at TBS. If they really wanted to provide good support for Linux users they would release their driver under GPL and upstream it (or contribute to/support the work by Luis Alves that has attempted to support his open source ...

Re: Arch Linux Compile (qt5-5.5.0)

Is origin/master known to compile against qt5 release 5.5? Based only on the behavioral change notes from qt 5.5 and the error message regarding QDataStream (i.e. I have not looked at the code) I suspect there is a missing include for QDataStream (which had previously been implied). If you want to ...

Re: System clock wrong...

Hi Deri, how old is your system? Is the bios battery dead? Phil As I recall, the CuBox-i actually has two RTCs. Only one battery backed. Depending the distro, there are various ways to use the "correct" rtc at boot. Rather than trying to find workarounds, I would refer the OP to the various discuss...

Re: Ubuntu 14.04 and HVR1250 and HVR2250

As mention in the other (related) thread https://forum.mythtv.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=374&hilit=hvr2250&start=15#p4186 patches were submitted to the media tree by Steven Toth (kernellabs) at the end of March. You should be able to build the drivers at this point following the usual out-of-tree media...

Re: dish OTA DVR receiver

My question is can I erase all the dish software and install MythTv on the receiver and use it as a stand-alone OTA set top box DVR with my roof antenna? My usual answer to this: "If you have to ask, you likely do not want to follow this path". My guess is that the VIP722 has a locked down bootload...

Re: Newer Hauppauge 1250,2250s not supported in linux

If I am interpreting this http://www.mail-archive.com/linux-media@vger.kernel.org/msg84383.html post correctly, patches may be released in a few weeks (or so) upstream. That should allow people to build their own driver modules until such time as the code gets integrated into your distros shipping ...

Re: Arris / Motorola VIP 2262 V2 lircd.conf

I couldn't see how to submit this to the remote database at the LIRC website. I do not know if it still works, but the recommendation used to be to send email to lirc@bartelmus.de with the information, although I also recall seeing others post directly to lirc-list@lists.sourceforge.net (the lirc e...

Ok friends, Romans, Countrymen/women,. and fellow Mythtv users,... there's an elephant in the room that no-one is talking about... I am not a MythTV dev, nor do I play one on TV. And I agree that there are threads of importance in some of your questions, and perhaps a "State of the State of MythTV"...

Re: Improved Intel deinterlacing

Realistically, is this something that someone with very little coding experience could learn and implement in a reasonable time or is this a job for an experienced developer? Likely going to need someone with expertice with libva (VA-API) and the MythTV video pipeline. That likely means someone exp...
