Re: CPU usage at 100% daily

PS I cheated and switched to using an rPi 2 for MythTV backend. Now I don't see this particular problem anymore and probably have simple recourse if I do (just re-image the SD card with a backup). I _do_ see an issue where pausing live TV for a certain amount of time results in blocky, glitching pla...

Re: CPU usage at 100% daily

OK, I'll look at enabling debug logging next. FWIW, I've kept a close eye on it today, and once I saw 100% CPU usage I checked housekeeping: mysql> select * from housekeeping where lastrun > '2016-01-04'; +--------------------------+----------+---------------------+ | tag | hostname | lastrun | +---...

Totally right. For some reason I assumed it needed the full path, then went down a rabbit hole when it didn't have permission to the path.

Re: CPU usage at 100% daily

So I've been keeping track of when this problem presents itself, and this is what I've found in terms of when I need to restart (i.e. when I see 100% CPU): - Monday morning - Tuesday evening - Thursday morning - Friday morning - Saturday afternoon This pattern has repeated for several weeks now. Wed...

Re: CPU usage at 100% daily

OK, the reason I was using /var/lib/mysql/mythconverg was because I didn't have permission to cd to /var/lib/mysql. So I ran sudo su and then cd'd. Now it works. I vaguely remember doing similar a month ago.

Thanks.

Re: CPU usage at 100% daily

That didn't work. I've tried -p=XXX, -p XXX, -pXXX, --password=XXX, --password XXX, --passwordXXX. None are working.

Re: CPU usage at 100% daily

Hi, I'm just getting back to looking into this after a busy xmas/new year period. When I received your reply a month ago I jumped onto mysql and had a quick look, but couldn't see anything obvious. Now I'm trying to get back on for a closer look and cannot for the life of me get mysql to connect: su...

Re: CPU usage at 100% daily

Great! I identified a LWP that had nearly 11 hours of CPU time. My results are at http://pastebin.com/Ng711R9X.

Thanks again.

CPU usage at 100% daily

Hi, I'm running 0.27 via Mythbuntu. Recently I noticed that CPU usage jumps to 100%, pretty much every day. When I run top I see that mythbackend is the culprit. Rebooting the machine clears up the problem temporarily, but it returns some time later for reasons I am yet to determine. I'm having to r...

I see. But is there a way for me to customize the profile that Kodi is using? It seems LQ to me and I want to see if I can tweak it.

Playback Profile Confusion

Hi, I've been playing around with Playback Profiles in Mythfrontend. However, I've had to install Mythfrontend just to discover this feature. My real problem is a lack of quality when watching TV via OpenELEC with the MythTV add-on. If I set the default playback profile inside Mythfrontend, is that ...

Re: Cannot schedule in prime time

@bill6502: Just tried your suggestion. The config file has changed slightly from what you've listed, but the premise was still the same: if you have lots of channels, PHP may run out of memory. I don't have lots of channels, but I tried doubling the allocated memory. It didn't make a difference when...

Re: Cannot schedule in prime time

Thanks, but I don't use MythTV front end. My front end is OpenELEC. Isn't MythWeb supposed to provide a web-based equivalent to MythTV frontend? Or am I misunderstanding it?
