Re: Trouble downloading log

Normally the log would be in a /var/log/mythtv/ directory. However this depends on the setup and the specific package that you are using.

Re: Installation on Debian 9.5 "Stretch"

The contents of libcec-dev are now what used to be called libcec4-dev. If you install libcec-dev then look at file /usr/include/libcec/version.h you can see the version is listed as version 4. (at least that is what I see with Ubuntu 18.04). For libmysqlclient-dev, on Ubuntu libmysqlclient-dev has a...

Re: Installation on Debian 9.5 "Stretch"

I think they should be just libcec-dev and default-libmysqlclient-dev.

However I think that libmysqlclient-dev is not required and that unless you plan on using cec, which requires special equipment or a raspberry pi, you can build without cec.

Re: Mythbackend will not start - missing libopenmaxil.so

Let me know if that does not solve the problem. This is an environment I have not tested and it may need some changes to the build.

Try running configure with --disable-openmax.

Re: Banana Pi M2+ [Off-Topic?]

Did you try running configure with --disable-openmax?

Re: Mythbackend will not start - missing libopenmaxil.so

I suggest that you use the --disable-openmax option in configure before compiling the software.

Re: mythconverg mysql database inside docker

Did you check the mysql.conf on the database server? By default it is setup to only listen on 127.0.0.1. You need to comment out the line
bind-address = 127.0.0.1
If using mariadb you need to set it as
bind-address = ::

Re: hdhomerun ERROR: lock no longer held

Another thing I can suggest is periodically reboot the HDHomerun Prime. I have a ceton eth 6. It has a memory leak that causes a failure after about 6 weeks. I reboot it once a week with a script to avoid that. There may be some command in the hdhomrun utility program to reboot it. Otherwise I sugge...

Re: hdhomerun ERROR: lock no longer held

I see you are using a pre-release build of v29. I would recommend getting the latest from fixes/29. I don't know if that will fix the error.

Are there any other errors in the log before these messages start, that may indicate the cause?

Re: mythtv 0.29, dvb tuning delay

Go into Capture Cards, arrow down to your DVB card, press right arrow. You see Card Type, press right arrow again. The next page has a bunch of things including Signal Timeout and Tuning Timeout. I have set them to 1000 and 8000.

Is this what you are looking for?

Re: Adding capture card to backend running mythtv light

How much memory does that machine have? If it is an older pi it may have only 512M. If there is insufficient memory and it starts swapping then it can take forever. Try running top and see whether swap space is being used. If it is swapping, make sure you reduce the gpu memory to the minimum possibl...

Re: Closed Captions for ComCast H264 channels?

Upgrading FFmpeg will not help because MythTV uses its own copy of FFmpeg built in. I can confirm that subtitles work for me with Comcast H264 in version 29. There were FFmpeg upgrades in each MythTV version so possibly that fixed it. I do not remember it being a problem with version 0.28, but at th...

Re: No OSD

I created a new SD card based on April 18th 2018 version of raspbian stretch. I added the MPEG2 license and increased GPU memory to 256M. I installed mythtv-light version 29. Mythfrontend failed to start. I tried it from a console and saw the error message that libGLESv2.so was not found. I don't kn...

The links should be created when you install mythtv-light, as follows pi@eagle2:~ $ ls -l /usr/share/mythtv/lib/ total 0 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 25 Feb 8 13:40 libEGL.so.1 -> /opt/vc/lib/libbrcmEGL.so lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 25 Feb 8 13:40 libEGL.so.1.0.0 -> /opt/vc/lib/libbrcmEGL.so lrwxrwxrwx 1 root...
