Re: SQL Database Socket Connection

OK, I can confirm this magic works as intended. I figured someone would need to tell the client where the socket was configured, but the system appears to figure this out on its own. A quick "tcpdump -i lo port 3306" can be used to monitor the interface for traffic. Changing the database host to "lo...

[Solved] SQL Database Socket Connection

My backend installation has the mythbackend and mysqld (Mariadb) on the same host. Mariadb provides a direct socket interface into the SQL server, short-circuiting the entire TCP/IP stack. Is there any way to configure the backend to speak to mysqld using this socket? I couldn't find anything in the...

Re: Graphics choice

Best to stick with NVIDIA for the time being, especially if accelerated deinterlacing is a requirement. Here is the missing development item required to get Intel graphics singing and dancing. https://forum.mythtv.org/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=626 I'm not sure if anything has been done in the 0.29 branch ...

Re: Arch Linux Compile (qt5-5.5.0)

Ticket created: https://code.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/12480#ticket

Just had to change 2 files to get a clean build against qt-5.5
  • mythtv/libs/libmythbase/mythmiscutil.cpp
    mythtv/libs/libmythtv/textsubtitleparser.cpp
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Re: Arch Linux Compile (qt5-5.5.0)

Downgraded all Arch qt5-* packages to 5.4.2-1 and I get a successful compile.

Arch Linux Compile (qt5-5.5.0)

Is origin/master known to compile against qt5 release 5.5? When building on my Linux Arch (qt5-base 5.5.0-1) machines I get the following error: make[2]: Entering directory '/scratch/Build/mythtv-git/src/mythtv/mythtv/libs/libmythbase' g++ -c -pipe -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -D_LARGEFILE_SOURCE -DPIC -D...

Re: Black Screen - openglvaapi - HD5500 Broadwell

I was able to build and test origin/devel/027candidates on Arch linux x64.

Everything looks good with vaapi playback on my end.
Suggest this be merged into fixes/0.27 so the distro maintainers pick up this fix.

Enclosing my MAKEPKG file in case another Arch user wants to have a go at it.

Re: Improved Intel deinterlacing

Broadwell low-voltage CPUs shipping now are perfect for HTPC with their low (15W) power footprint. My new laptop (i5-5300u w/ HD5500) effortlessly renders 1080i without any heat or fan noise on Kodi 14.2 (Supports VAAPI-MCDI) GPU deinterlacer support is the only thing holding me back from upgrading ...

Black Screen - openglvaapi - HD5500 Broadwell

I am trying to turn up VAAPI playback on my new laptop with Intel Broadwell GPU. Everything works fine when I set up Decoder/Renderer to ffmpeg/opengl (Standard/opengl/openlg2) When I go to vaapi/openglvaapi (vaapi/openglvaapi/opengl2) video playback is blacked out. I have double-checked "Paint Engi...

0.28 Backend Web Interface Credentials

Hello, I am previewing the 0.28 development branch on a test server. Everything look good so far. I am stumped with authentication for the new web interface. (Which looks great, BTW) Where is http://<backend-ip>:6544 user/password information configured? If this functionality is not ready for testin...
